How We Work
Understanding who’s behind this resource and why we focus on specific businesses — transparency about how we evaluate and recommend the professionals we trust.
Who Runs This
Cedar & Stone Shop has been part of this community since 2013. What started as a local business commitment has grown into something more: a genuine appreciation for other businesses in our region that share our values around quality, reliability, and customer care. We’re not a review site; we’re a local business that’s worked with dozens of service providers over the years and wants to share what we’ve learned about which ones truly deliver.
Every recommendation you find here comes from real experience. We’ve worked with these businesses, seen their work firsthand, and decided they’re worth telling our community about. When we recommend someone, we’re putting our reputation behind that decision.

What We Will Not Do
- Take payment for recommendations: If a business paid us to feature them, we wouldn’t feature them. Our reputation is worth far more than any fee.
- Recommend based on big names alone: National brands don’t automatically get our stamp of approval. We care about local service quality, not brand recognition.
- Make promises we can’t back up: We only recommend people we’ve genuinely worked with and verified. We’re not in the business of opinion; we’re in the business of truth.
- Give one-star or five-star blanket assessments: Real businesses are complex. We explain what we’ve experienced and what makes them valuable for specific situations.
How We Evaluate
- Direct Experience: We use the service or see the work firsthand. Not secondhand reports — we know what we’re talking about.
- Consistency Check: One good job is nice. Multiple interactions over time that are all solid? That’s our standard.
- Communication & Transparency: How do they treat customers? Are they upfront about costs, timelines, and what’s involved? This matters enormously.
- Specialized Excellence: We look for businesses that focus deeply on what they do rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
- Community Fit: Are they part of this area’s business community? Do they understand local context and needs?
Something We Changed Our Mind About
“Years ago, we thought bigger was better. Bigger shops, bigger names, bigger marketing budgets. Then we realized: we kept coming back to the same three specialists for critical work. They were smaller, they knew our vehicles, and they cared enough to get it right. That’s when we understood that depth beats breadth every single time. A business that does one thing excellently is infinitely more valuable than one trying to do everything adequately.”

That shift in thinking is why you’ll notice all our recommendations are specialists in their field. It’s also why you’ll see that we cover a lot of ground across different business types — we believe in finding the right expert for each need, not the biggest name in the market. When you’re looking for European automotive expertise, you’re not looking for a quick fix from someone who does everything. You’re looking for someone who’s built their entire practice around precisely what you need.
Industry Expertise in Practice
Want to understand more about what goes into running a quality automotive service operation? This overview covers the fundamentals that separate excellent shops from average ones — the same standards we apply when recommending the providers we trust:
This video covers the business fundamentals that matter: investment in right equipment, focus on quality over volume, clear communication, and continuous improvement. When you work with a shop that embraces these principles, you get reliability and peace of mind.
That’s how we work: with integrity, expertise, and a genuine commitment to connecting you with professionals we’d trust with our own vehicles. Everything on this site reflects that philosophy.
